Liposuction is Simpler Than You Think

What is Liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical technique to remove unwanted deposits of fat from specific areas of the body.
It is not a substitute for weight reduction, but a method for removing localised deposits of fatty tissue
that do not respond to diet or exercise.

Preferred Body Areas

The following body areas are commonly targeted for liposuction treatment:
● Face
● Neck
● Upper arms
● Trunk
● Abdomen
● Buttocks
● Hips
● Thighs
● Knees
● Calves
● Ankles

Liposuction works best for people with good skin tone and elasticity, where the skin molds itself into
new contours. People whose skin lacks elasticity may end up with loose-looking skin in areas where the
procedure was done.

To undergo this procedure, the patient will need to be:
1. Over 18 years old.
2. In good health.
3. Not suffering from circulation or blood flow problems

How The Procedure is Done

Using a hollow metal surgical instrument known as a cannula, it is inserted through small skin
incision(s) and is passed back and forth through the area of fatty deposit. The cannula is then attached
to a vacuum source that provides the suction needed to remove the fatty tissue.
Sometimes, a special cannula may be used that emits ultrasonic energy, laser energy, or a jet of water
to break down fatty deposits.
